Loudon County Democrats and others braved the cold to join the nationwide weekend of action demanding accountability after ICE killing of Renee Nicole Good. A broad national coalition, including Indivisible, MoveOn Civic Action, the American Civil Liberties Union, Public Citizen, Voto Latino, United We Dream, 50501, the Disappeared in America Campaign of the Not Above the Law coalition, and partner organizations across the country, demonstrated in a coordinated ICE Out For Good Weekend of Action. Loudon participated on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Across the country over 1,000 communities joined in lawful, nonviolent, community-led protest to the escalation of ICE violence in our communities, the killing of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old wife and mother of three, and the months-long pattern of unchecked violence and abuse in marginalized communities of America.

The Democratic candidates running for governor in Tennessee are:

Carnita Atwater, Tim CyrJerri Green, and Adam Kurtz are running in the Democratic primary for Governor of Tennessee on August 6, 2026.

Now is the time for all of us to continue working. Consider running for a Loudon County Office.

Support Hunger Relief Programs

Second Harvest

Second Harvest’s programs are designed to serve those experiencing hunger across East Tennessee, from children to seniors, and everyone in between. Their programs strive to distribute food to every corner of the community, provide educational resources, and end the cycle of poverty.

Second Harvest is one of many programs that provide real help to real people in Loudon County. The food banks of our area need your support.  From the little food pantry box outside the Loudon Library on River Road to the Good Samaritan Center at 119 North A Street  Lenoir City there are places and organizations that can both help you and which you can help.

ICE Resistance

ICE Resistance Alert

Good Evening,

Tonight, I want to talk about ICE coming to Loudon County.  They have been spotted in the area scouting potential target sites and looking for the most vulnerable among our neighbors to arrest.

This is not America.  This is not who we are.  We have always believed only third world countries had Secret Police making people disappear, but here we are.  Unidentified men in masks snatching our neighbors from work sites, courtrooms, and churches.  I am asking for your help.

If you see this happening, there are four important steps we can take.:

1.  Inform.  If ICE is spotted, let others know what and where things are happening.  Text your friends.  Use social media to alert everyone you can about what you are witnessing.

2.  Document.  Shoot video if possible.  If you know how to go live on Facebook, do so.  If not, post the video as soon as you are able.  Be a witness.

3.  Warn.  Let others in the area know to be on the lookout.  Honk your horn.  If you see one incident, there will be more.  Call attention to their presence.

4.  DO NOT ENGAGE.  At no time should you engage with the ICE officers.  Do not attempt to interfere in their work.  Do not confront the officers.

Bravery is contagious…. And it is time to be brave.  Our community needs you.  The people that are being captured are not rapists, criminals, or dangerous.  They are people striving to make a better life for their families.  Just like you…just like me.  I will be sending updates as the situation develops.
